Long-time readers would know that I am not a believer that owning a car is a necessity in Singapore. As I have explained previously in a blog post, my family of four gets around Singapore through a combination of public transport, bicycle/scooters and private hire vehicles. Occasionally, renting a car might prove to be a more cost effective and convenient option if multiple destinations are required within a day. One such occasion was the visitations typically required made during Chinese New Year. With the recommendation of a friend, I switched from BlueSg to GetGo and I really enjoyed the experience. Here is my review of GetGo, a car sharing company in Singapore. In this article, I also included the pricing rates, tips for drivers as well as a promo code (5UR01YMJ) for you to get a discount off your first drive.

What Is GetGo

GetGo is a Point A to Point A service whereby the user picks up the vehicle in Point A and returns it back in Point A at the end of the trip. It can be booked from as little as 1 hour to a maximum of 5 entire days. It can also be booked in 15-minute blocks thereafter, eg: 1 hour 15 mins.

If you stay in an area or are in a location populated with HDB public housing, there will be no lack of GetGo vehicles as shown in Diagram 1.
